Many people seem to think otherwise, but agriculture and technology are closely connected. You can see that on full display here at the Iowa State Fair, with displays from both Meta and Google. The latter of the two recently made a hefty investment in the state of Iowa as well. Ben Gleason, Iowa Nutrient Research & Education Council (NREC) Executive Director, stopped by our booth to talk about the $250,000 grant they recently received from Google.
With one of its largest data centers in Council Bluffs, Google has a decent presence in Iowa. That?s why they decided they wanted to partner with the Iowa NREC to invest in the state. Gleason said this grant will help them achieve their main missions.
Since Google?s main goal is to support Iowa initiatives through their STEM and Iowa NREC grants, their resources will prove to be incredibly useful. Gleason talked about their partnership and where he thinks it could go in the future.
