The latest export data holds plenty of good news for the pork industry. Courtney Knupp, vice president of international market development with the National Pork Board says that key indicators for pork exports are on an upward swing and numbers for the month of August topped year ago levels for the first time in 2022.
She says lot of the demand for pork is driven by the number of different pork products that are available.
When studying the numbers, Knupp says it?s important to look at the three and five-year data as well, because of the turmoil and volatility that has taken place in the world in recent years.
Knupp says, the return of Asian markets and costs of production for other countries has allowed U.S. pork to be more competitive.
