Education and ?agvocacy? are important for farmers to tell their story. There are many groups working to do just that. One such group in Iowa received a boost from Bayer.
Bayer made a $5000 donation to the Iowa Ag Literacy Foundation on the last day of the Farm Progress Show. Bayer?s Darren Wallis says that with so many consumers being generations removed from agriculture, agvocacy is important.
Will Fett of the Iowa Ag Literacy Foundation says the money will allow them to offer more educator training.
Wallis says having consumers understand what farmers do to put food on the world?s table is essential.
Fett says Iowa Ag in the Classroom is not about adding curriculum, it is about supplementing it.
