At this year’s Farm Progress Show, BASF unveiled Voraxor, a next generation, ultra-low use rate burndown and pre-emergence herbicide. Josh Putman, technical marketing manager for corn herbicides at BASF, said Voraxor will be available to farmers next year and combines two Group 14 active ingredients- trifludimoxazin and saflufenacil- to provide quick and efficient weed control.
Putman said Voraxor specifically targets tough, herbicide resistant broadleaf weeds like marestail and pigweed.
Putman said early and strong control is especially important for these broadleaf weeds.
Putman said farmers can’t depend too much on one herbicide, so they made sure Voraxor would fit in with a multi-pass application system.
