Farmers in South America are in the early stages of their second crop season of the year. So far, the weather has been mostly favorable for planting progress. Allendale commodity broker Ben Breisch said it’s early enough that the markets aren’t too focused on the South American weather currently.
Breisch said planting progress is slightly behind where it should be in both Brazil and Argentina.
The biggest market news right now is the upcoming WASDE report, which is scheduled to release on November 14th even though there is no end in sight for the government shutdown.
Breisch noted that, even though this will be the first major government report since the start of the shutdown, he doesn’t expect to see any major news about Brazil and Argentina.
