While the grain markets don’t have very much news to trade on due to the government shutdown and a lack of data, the other commodities- including cattle- are still able to see some positive price movement. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride said there’s a lot of excitement with the metals, with some setting all-time highs.
McBride said there’s also talk of a squeeze on silver supplies, which has almost doubled prices.
On the ag side of things, McBride said the cattle markets are seeing continued strength in prices.
Some markets are also seeing negative movements during the government shutdown. McBride said the rice and oat markets are going through plenty of issues.
