Last year’s crop season was full of curveballs, but farmers were still able to grow some very successful crops. In fact, several Iowa farmers were winners of the 2025 Asgrow Brand National Yield Contest. The annual competition is open to any farmers in the U.S. who grow Asgrow brand soybean products from Bayer Crop Science. Mac Hageman, a farmer out of Ossian, achieved an impressive winning yield of 126.4 bushels per acre with his soybean entry. Hageman said it takes a strong team to work together to see those kinds of yields.
Hageman said that soybeans can become more susceptible to wind damage when you push them to grow at this level.
Hageman said he got plenty of great help from the Asgrow agronomy team.
For any other farmers who want to push their yields, Hageman said he strongly believes in utilizing tissue sampling in order to make better crop management decisions.
