Highlights from Commodity Classic

by | Mar 7, 2013 | Audio

Commodity Classic has become the major gathering place for commodity farmers (corn, soybeans, wheat and grain sorghum) so that they can talk about their farms and families. The agribusiness community can’t pass up an audience of six thousand of the top farmers in the country, so they show up in force for an excellent trade show.

It’s also an excellent place to get insight from industry and government leaders. Ken had the chance to speak to several in industry, associations and government.

DuPont Pioneer
John Chism, Services and Implementation Engineer
John talks about applications to allow farmers to find out more about the seed they’ve purchased. They also have a new program, Field 360, for farmers to keep notes on their fields and share as they wish.

John Deere
Kathy Michael, Senior Product Manager, Intelligent Solutions.
Kathy discusses John Deere’s Field Connect program, which allows moisture sensing equipment to be installed and monitored by farmers.

Monsanto
Dan Kurdig, Asgrow Brand Manager.
Dan talks about the awards program for Asgrow Soybeans; weather conditions for 2012 notwithstanding, these growers moved their yields up sharply.
