Continuing to find new uses for American soybeans

The United Soybean Board is driving demand for U.S. soybeans in many ways, with some being more obvious choices than others. One of those underrated focuses is in non-food products like tires and asphalt. United Soybean Board Director Robb Ewoldt- who is also an Iowa soybean farmer- said the Farm Progress Show grounds in Boone are paved with soy-based asphalt.

Ewoldt said it’s exciting to see the continuous discovery of non-food uses for soybeans.

Livestock production still remains king for soybean demand, though. High oleic soybean oil is used in dairy farms, and Ewoldt said it is proven to increase milk fat yield in dairy cattle.
