Believe it or not, there are some combines running in the fields in Iowa already. With the heavy moisture we saw at the beginning of planting season, there’s going to be a lot of variance in harvest dates across the state. Jamie Horton, DEKALB/Asgrow technical agronomist, said she is excited to see how the DEKALB brand has handled this year’s end-of-season disease pressure.
Horton said a few hybrid have stood out and handled this year’s challenges better than other varieties on the market.
Wind damage and tassel wrap were some of the other issues outside of disease pressure that were problematic this year. Horton said Preceon Smart Corn gives farmers the tools to handle those problems.
