The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) recently led an agribusiness trade mission to Angola from Feb. 26-29. U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Africa Representative Matt Copeland, who participated through support from the Beef Checkoff Program, said having key USDA leaders in the country sent a strong message to the developing market.

Copeland also discussed opportunities in the Angolan market for U.S. beef and pork, because while Angola will have demand for variety meats, there is a growing market for higher-end cuts in western style, retail, and food service as well.
