United Soybean Board elects Dan Farney as new Chair

It is that time of the year when organizations are voting in new leadership for the coming year. The United Soybean Board (USB) is no different. The organization, which is tasked with managing the soybean checkoff, recently held its elections for leadership on the 78-member board. Illinois Farmer Dan Farney was selected to be the Chairman for 2021. He is really looking forward to his new role. We talked about what his goals are for the upcoming year.

Chairman Dan Farney talks about his family farm in Morton, Illinois, and his involvement in soybean boards at the state and national level.

Farney says that it has been a wonderful experience to serve soybean farmers both at the state and national levels. He has gained friendships and perspectives that he really appreciates.

Farney says some of his priorities are hopefully seeing a return to normalcy and working together face to face and maintaining the hard work that the USB is doing. He hopes to be able to help point the board in the right direction and let them do the work they do.

Farney talks about what he sees for the future of American soybean producers in 2021. He really focuses on meeting demand next year.
