Depending on what a grower is looking for they can choose a corn trait that is more resistant to particular herbicides or provides protection against certain types of insects says Erica Strittmatter, a corn traits marketing lead for Bayer.
Strittmatter says that because of volatility and variability from year to year, corn trait technology helps growers to have all of their bases covered.
If a grower knows they are in a potential problem area for specific weed or pest pressure, they can opt for a corn trait that helps mitigate pressure from those problems before they have taken hold.
She says that not only does Bayer want to give growers options with each trait or trait stack, but the company also wants to provide as many options as possible throughout the entire trait line-up.
