There have been an untold number of advancements made in agricultural safety since farming first began in the United States. However, tractor rollovers remain a danger in agriculture despite safety measures available that can prevent injuries from tractor turnovers.
That?s Dr. Steve Freeman a professor in the Iowa State University agricultural engineering department. Freeman says that tractor rollovers can happen even when an operator is not necessarily doing something that would be considered dangerous.
Tractor rollover deaths are very preventable, says Dr. Freeman.
A rollover protective structure or ROPS can be retrofitted to a tractor that is without rollover protection.
