South American Weather and Crop Update (4-30-24)

by | Apr 30, 2024 | 5 Ag Stories, News

Drier conditions have finally made their way to South America, allowing farmers in Brazil and Argentina to catch up on harvest. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride gave an update on the latest weather conditions.

McBride said harvest in Brazil is moving steadily towards completion.

Delays continue to plague farmers harvesting in Argentina, and McBride said that any further issues could start raising some real concerns.

There is also now a strike going on at the ports in Argentina, but McBride said this should only last a few days.

McBride also gave a projection of what changes we might see the USDA make to the South American crop in the May WASDE report.
