South American Weather and Crop Update (2-6-24)

by | Feb 6, 2024 | 5 Ag Stories, News

Concerns about long-term dry weather still remain in South America, but, for the time being, there are some nice rains passing over right now. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride gave an update on the latest weather conditions.

McBride said that harvest is still progressing quickly in Brazil, and it’s actually allowing for the second crop corn to be planted quicker as well.

Planting progress in Argentina is still on the cusp of wrapping up.

McBride said they’re also looking for mixed changes in this Thursday’s WASDE report, likely with some decreases to Brazil’s crop and increases to Argentina’s.
