The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) represents the pork industry year-round on many important issues for producers. The NPPC has a strong executive team full of experience that allows them to tackle these issues posed by the producers they represent. Duane Stateler, NPPC President-Elect, will soon be president of the organization, and he said he’s looking forward to being the voice for the industry.

Stateler said he is glad to be part of a team with so much diverse, collaborative knowledge.

One of the biggest challenges Stateler will face as president is California Proposition 12. Stateler said the main problem with the legislation is that it does not follow any proven science.

Legislation like Prop 12 can also create unnecessary hurdles for producers, and those hurdles have even driven some companies out of the United States.
