Just like a farming operation the National Pork Board must keep track of its budget to understand what type of work is possible.
Al Wulfekuhle, a producer from Iowa and the treasurer for the National Pork Board, says the main priority of the board is to spend Checkoff funds in the best manner possible.
He says it is important to review ideas brought to the NPB and also try to figure out return on investment.
Wulfekuhle says the focus now is building trust with consumers. He also states that the industry needs to continue to show its value to the public.
