A new study from the University of Idaho highlighted the interactions between cattle and sage grouse populations. The 10-year study confirmed that cattle grazing does not negatively impact greater sage grouse- in fact, it actually benefits the species through building robust habitat, increasing forage, and reducing invasive grasses that lead to catastrophic wildfires. Kaitlynn Glover, executive director of the Public Lands Council and NCBA Natural Resources, said they are very pleased with the results of this decade-long study.
Glover said this is a big win for western cattle producers.
Glover encouraged people to look more into the positive impacts that cattle grazing has on greater sage grouse populations.
