Farmers Business Network, the global AgTech platform and farmer-to-farmer network, recently announced the rollout of its new feed system for beef cattle called Profectus Feeds. Dr. Brian Dorcey, head of veterinary strategy with FBN says that the Profectus Feeds system is revolutionary because of the way it balances beef diets for amino acid requirements.

The system was designed by FBN’s livestock nutrition experts and veterinarians, says Dr. Dorcey.

Much like we see with row crop agriculture where advancements are being made every day to improve efficiency and profitability, Dorcey says this new feed system can also be thought of as precision agriculture.

In a recent trial of 335 Angus-Holstein cross calves, FBN says that Profectus Feeds reduced gain costs by 15 cents/lb. for a value increase of $83.52 per head. Dr. Dorcey says that the study showed even more benefits from the feed system than were expected.
