National Ag Day to be celebrated next week

March 19th is National Ag Day. It’s a celebration of the hard work and dedication of American farmers to feed the world. Increasingly we are finding ourselves having to educate our consumers and defend against slanted misinformation. The day is a great way to also take the time to share our stories with the general public.

This year marks our 51st National Ag Day. Jenni Badding is an Ag Public Relations Manager at John Deere and chair of the Agriculture Council of America, which organizes the yearly celebration.

They have decided to keep last year’s theme in place. More and more consumers are concerned that farmers are doing all they can to protect the environment. Farmers have been saying for years that if they do not, the farm is worthless to try and pass along. Badding says it was key to keep this message fresh in the minds of our consumers.

Activities and celebrations are being planned for all over the country, including the Nation’s Capital.
