Yesterday, Land O’Lakes donated over 40,000 pounds of LAND O LAKES® Macaroni & Cheese to the Food Bank of Iowa in order to help combat food insecurity across the state. The donation was made through the Land O’Lakes First Run Program and will provide over 33,500 meals. Annette Hacker, vice president of communications with the Food Bank of Iowa, said it’s great to receive such a large donation of a family-friendly meal.

The First Run Program, which is committed to donate fresh products to food banks year-round, has donated over 7 million pounds of food since it was established in 2010. Over that time, 317,000 pounds of food have been donated to the state of Iowa alone.

As always, Hacker said people who want to volunteer, donate, or look into receiving food themselves can visit the Food Bank of Iowa’s website.
