Last week Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued a letter to his Senate colleagues which detailed his priorities for the Senate in the coming weeks. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says he is displeased that the farm bill was not included in the Senate Majority Leader’s agenda for the Senate.
Grassley says that because the farm bill impacts the lives of all Americans, updating the farm bill should be a central focus for the Senate.
He says another extension of the 2018 Farm Bill would put producers in a tough spot.
Senator Grassley made his comments on Tuesday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters.
