United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has made comments this week critical of both the Biden administration and the Trump campaign over policies that directly impact agriculture.
Grassley on Tuesday continued to criticize the Environmental Protection Agency’s delay in announcing RVOs for 2026-2028, saying that the uncertainty is negatively affecting the biofuel industry and rural economies.
Senator Chuck Grassley says that the Trump campaign and the GOP platform that calls for a tariff-led trade policy is not friendly to ag trade.
President Biden has continued the Trump tariffs against China, especially on steel. Grassley also says that Congress needs to focus on the farm bill if it has any hopes of completing a new five-year farm bill.
Grassley sees little political impact on the farm bill from the Biden debate fallout but still predicts no Senate farm bill deal.
Senator Grassley made his comments on Tuesday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters.
