We had a couple of reports from the USDA to end off the first full week of December, and while we generally don’t expect anything from these reports, there were a few friendly surprises to be found. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride provided the numbers from the U.S. Export Sales, which he said are still looking good.
McBride said the flash sales have also showcased the consistent export demand we’ve seen recently.
Today’s WASDE report included some slight changes, and even that can be considered active for a December report. McBride said those changes to export demand weren’t necessarily bullish, but they were friendly to the marketplace.
McBride said that the USDA did actually make some slightly aggressive changes to the Brazil export numbers.
Looking ahead to the January WASDE, McBride said to expect some more changes and cuts to be made to the South American numbers.
