Today marked the final day of the 98th Annual Iowa FFA Leadership Conference. The event, which takes place on the campus of Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames, isn’t just an opportunity to connect with fellow FFA members- high school juniors and seniors often also make important connections for their post-graduation plans. As the host site, Iowa State University is able to get a head start on getting students familiar with the campus and the degrees they offer. Andy Zehr, director of communication and marketing with the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), said he enjoys having the opportunity to connect with these students.
Zehr said that FFA members are able to make important faculty connections at Iowa State during the convention.
Zehr said CALS has a wide variety of ag degrees that apply to even more than just farming.
Zehr added that a big part of his goal is to inspire students to pursue any and all areas of agriculture that interest them the most.
