When selecting seed for the upcoming growing season a grower should be striving to select the right seed for their operation and the right seed for each field. More options allow for more opportunities to make the correct choice.
Syngenta Seeds offers three brands and three different ways for farmers to make their seed selection says Jim Shertzer with Syngenta Seeds.
In addition to NK Seeds, the Golden Harvest brand offers local knowledge and agronomy expertise, says Shertzer.
He says the latest route to market, GHX, allows growers to find the right seed for them down to the field level.
Mother nature has been very unpredictable and last year’s widespread drought affected large swathes of growers across the Midwest. Despite the stress from drought and heat, yields were not lowered significantly. However, Shertzer says that years of research and development have allowed seed genetics to reach this point.
He also offers some product recommendations for Iowa growers.
