A new crop protection product can take up to eight to ten years and millions of dollars to research, test, develop, and register. Surtain™ corn herbicide from BASF has reached that final stage with the product being approved by the EPA and now awaiting state by state approval.
That is Josh Putman, a technical marketing manager with BASF, who says that the two active ingredients in Surtain™ help to suppress and control 79 key broadleaf and grass weeds.
Surtain™ was designed to attack weeds early in their life cycle says Putman.
He says the new technologies incorporated into Surtain™ creates a wide application window that gives growers a lot of flexibility with the application of the product.
