The Farmers Business Network recently made a big splash in the livestock industry.
FBN has announced it has acquired two outstanding animal health and nutrition businesses: Prairie Livestock Supply and ProPig/ProCattle, both based out of Worthington, Minnesota. FBN Co-Founder Charles Baron says the two companies have a great customer base in Iowa, and that this acquisition means FBN can help producers maximize the ROI of their entire herd.
?It?s really important to us to be able to help our farmers across the whole value of their operation,? Baron said. ?We want to help them optimize their costs on the cropping and livestock side, and help them optimize the value of their products so that they get higher values in the market and can produce more. That?s the core of FBN is helping farmers improve their profitability by lowering their costs and helping them increase their outputs.?
Baron says the acquisitions bring to FBN a team of outstanding veterinarians, animal health specialists, and nutritionists with decades of experience.
?A full pharmacy, which we can serve across the country and of course here in Iowa, for prescription and non-prescription items,? Baron said. ?We can provide a full range of beef cattle feed as well as swine feeds. Then we can provide veterinary services. If folks ? no matter if they are a dairy, swine or beef operation ? if they need veterinary services, we can get them a vet through the FBN network who can provide them that service.?
Another perk for FBN members is 0% interest financing on all animal health and feed purchases. For more information on the acquisitions, visit the Farmers Business Network website.
