No Disruptions Forecast in Indiana Harvest Weather
Hot and dry has been the harvest forecast so far this fall, and the next week continues to look very dry. HAT meteorologist Ryan Martin says the next week has very little chance of a harvest interruption, ? The overall forecast pattern for the next week continues to be dry. Some models suggest a slight chance of rain next Wednesday and Thursday; but, if you are looking for any harvest delaying systems, we don?t have it.?
Martin said, even if an isolated shower did occur, ?We are so dry, we would dry down in 12 to 18 hours and be back in the field.? He added that the cooler temperatures that have moved in the past few days will begin to warm as we move into next week. He sees above normal temperatures for most of October, ?I do not see an early frost at all.?
As for the extended forecast, Martin does not see any major harvest delays, although chances of rain will increase as we head into Mid-October. He said, ?Somewhere between the 7th ? 10th of October, there is the chance for heavy rain that may put the harvest on hold.?
