The Iowa Ag Expo was held in Des Moines last week with hundreds of exhibitors on hand to highlight the latest and greatest in the agriculture industry to the thousands of show attendees. While at the Iowa Events Center, the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network had a chance to stop by the Stine Seed Company booth at the show.
Dustin Ellis, regional sales agronomist, with Stine Seed Company says that Iowa farmers were eager to talk about Enlist E3? soybeans at the Iowa Ag Expo.
Ellis says that Enlist E3? soybeans provides a lot of options to farmers with their crop protection plan. The number of options and versatility are what have made Enlist E3? soybeans so popular, says Ellis.
Farmers can study data at the state and county level to try and determine what is right for their farm. While that can certainly help to form a plan, knowing what is right for your specific farm ground is even more important. Ellis says that extends to selecting the correct hybrids for your farm.
Opinions differ on when farmers should plant soybeans. There has been a trend in the ag industry to get soybeans planted earlier than conventional wisdom. Ellis says that earlier planting has become more popular and if conditions allow for it, it can be a profitable choice.
