Attendance numbers from World Dairy Expo have been tallied.

World Dairy Expo celebrated 50 years October 4th-8th in Madison, Wisconsin. Many events were held throughout the week to highlight this historic milestone.

Kristin Olson is with World Dairy Expo. She says they had a record attendance.

?We had a second all-time high attendance with 75,000 people coming to World Dairy Expo. We also broke a record with the number of countries. We saw more than 3,000 registered international guests from 102 countries. This is the first time we broke 100 so that was exciting to see as well.?

The trade show was equally as successful by featuring a record number of exhibitors.

?This year we saw a record-breaking 881 participating companies in our trade show from 30 countries. We had six Canadian provinces represented in that number as well as 45 U.S. states. The show has a global presence.?

Of course, for many years, center stage belongs to the cattle. Olson says the best cattle in the world came from many areas around the United States and beyond.

?We had 2,434, so just about 2,500 cattle housed in those New Holland Pavilions as well as a tent which we had to extend this year because of the demand we saw in this year?s show. We had 1,700 exhibitors represented in our dairy cattle show from 37 states, nine Canadian provinces and one Mexican state.?
