An unfortunate part of the holiday season is fraud. Sean Voskuhl, the Oklahoma State Director for the AARP, says 82 percent of U.S. consumers have experienced some type of fraud.
Smartphone technology can also lead to other opportunities to be taken in by fraud.
It also can apply to holiday travel. Twelve percent of travelers experienced fraud when booking a trip. AARP did a holiday shopping and scams survey of U.S. consumers 18 and older. The findings showed that most consumers don’t know how to protect themselves.
