The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. -Matthew 7:25
Last week across the road a building partially collapsed. Bricks toppled everywhere and the building looks to be of a bit a disaster.
I am not quite sure that this particular building had anything to do with the foundation itself, but I started thinking about the importance of a firm foundation.
Everything builds on top of the foundation. If the foundation is solid, what is built on top has a better chance of turning out right.
A solid foundation is able to support the weight of the building itself, along with any additional stressors like people, furnishings and more.
A foundation provides a solid anchor for the building, keeping it stable and secure?but without a solid foundation, the building will eventually fall.
Are you building your life on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ? If you aren’t…eventually you will collapse.
Prayer: “Lord, thank you for being the solid foundation on which I can build my life on. Help me to constantly use you as my rock. In your name I pray, Amen.”
