Taste What Pork Can Do is the new industry wide campaign from the National Pork Board that primarily uses digital media to connect with younger consumers. The campaign has been active for about a month, and the Iowa Ag Radio Network got an update on the campaign from Jose de Jesus of the National Pork Board at this week’s World Pork Expo.
Jose de Jesus is the assistant vice president of consumer marketing at NPB and says that Taste What Pork Can Do is vastly different from traditional campaigns of the past.
In addition to marketing pork to consumers in a different way, de Jesus says that this campaign is also targeting consumers in densely populated areas of the country where few hogs are raised.
Previous consumer campaigns from the NPB relied on traditional forms of media but de Jesus says that while this digital campaign might not be as visible to everyone, it tailors the message for the individual consumer.
