Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope that you are having a safe celebration with your families and friends. This is truly one of my favorite holidays of the year. It marks the day I finally allow myself to get into the Christmas spirit. I love the time with family, maybe watching a little football, but also, it?s the food.
As we look back at the year that was and all the blessings we will give thanks for, we also look right at the Thanksgiving table. It will no doubt be loaded with goodies, many of which come from the fields, barns, and gardens of Iowa.
Turkey producers had a stressful year. The uncertainty caused by bird flu not once, but twice, this year. But, like all farmers, they worked hard to grow a safe and reliable product that will grace your tables. Iowa Ag Secretary Naig talks about the hard work that our turkey producers do all year long.
I had to ask how the Secretary likes to prepare his turkey, and what else he looks forward to on the Naig Thanksgiving table.
