As the Americas prepare to face what is being called a “super El Niño,” farmers in Brazil and Argentina are moving along with planting season for the next crop. While there is a significant chance for excessive, damaging rains, Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride said they will take the rain they can get for now.
The planting process is still in the early stages in Brazil, but McBride said progress is sitting close to the historical averages.
Soybean planting has not started in Argentina yet, and corn planting is also still in the very early stages.
