United States Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Joni Ernst (R-IA) were in their home state of Iowa on Wednesday to host the ranking member of the senate ag committee Senator John Boozman (R-AR) and hear farmer?s priorities for the farm bill.
Senator Grassley has been in Iowa the past two weeks because of the Senate Easter recess and on Wednesday Grassley and Ernst hosted the ranking member of the senate ag committee Senator John Boozman (R-AR) for a tour of three agriculture facilities in Iowa. Grassley says Wednesday was a chance to promote Iowa agriculture and hear farm bill priorities from farmers in the state.
Grassley says that other non-farm bill issues were also at the forefront on Wednesday.
Grassley says that at this time last year, a waiver was issued to allow E15 sales in the summer months.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan will appear before the House agriculture committee next week and Senator Grassley was asked what questions those lawmakers should be asking Administrator Regan.
Senators Grassley, Ernst, and Boozman made stops on Wednesday in Story County at Iowa State University Research Park hosted by Pivot Bio, in Greene County at Louis Dreyfus in Grand Junction, and in Guthrie County for a visit to an AMVC sow farm in Guthrie Center.
