Secretary Rollins discusses efforts to boost soy exports amid tariff uncertainty

Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins says despite the trade uncertainty from President Trump’s on-again-off-again tariffs, USDA is working to increase US farm exports, including soybeans.

When the top House Ag Democrat asked at an oversight hearing what USDA was doing to boost soy exports, Secretary Rollins referenced a recent trip to Italy.

Rollins acknowledges the atmosphere of uncertainty amidst the current trade war, but says that USDA is doing its utmost to improve ag exports from the U.S.

Ranking Ag Democrat Angie Craig, questioned Rollins on the United State’s biggest soy market.

As part of the ongoing trade talks, the U.S. and China lowered reciprocal tariffs to 10 percent for 90 days, as negotiations continue.
