World Pork Expo was a time in which pork producers got together from all over the globe to talk about many subjects impacting the industry. One of those is Foreign Animal Diseases (FAD). This is a topic that goes beyond the pork industry and affects all animal producers. Look no further than the resurgence of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) this spring.

Naig reflects on how we came through this latest outbreak in seemingly much better shape than in 2015.

Of course, at the World Pork Expo, the top-of-mind FAD was African Swine Fever, which we have managed to keep out of this country. Naig talks about the efforts being made to keep the disease out, and how we are getting closer to finding a way to beat this disease back.
