Cooperative Ventures, the innovation fund formed by farmer-owned cooperatives CHS and GROWMARK, has announced a new investment in Precision AI, an emerging leader in autonomous aerial technology and real-time, plant-level input decisions.

The investment was part of Precision AI’s Series A funding round, including support from Farm Credit Canada, The 51 Food and AgTech Fund, and Green Spark Ventures. Existing investors Fulcrum Global Capital, BDC Capital, and At One Ventures also contributed.

Precision AI uses artificial intelligence and drone-based systems to collect detailed data across fields, giving farmers and agronomists the tools to apply inputs precisely where they’re needed. The result is reduced input costs, stronger plants, and improved profitability.

“This partnership helps connect our technology directly to the farmers who can benefit the most,” said Precision AI CEO Dan McCann. “With access to real-time data, farmers can make smarter input decisions that protect plant health and drive efficiency.”

Heather Thompson, executive director of enterprise marketing for GROWMARK, said the technology addresses a growing need in agriculture. “As herbicide resistance becomes more common, tools like this give farmers a much-needed edge. When inputs are applied with precision, it leads to healthier crops and stronger returns.”

CHS Executive Vice President and CIO David Black echoed that sentiment. “Farmers are constantly being asked to do more with less. Precision AI supports that challenge with tools built to enhance both efficiency and profitability.”
