Precision ag upgrades are aftermarket technology add-ons that can be installed on farm equipment that a grower already owns. Upgrades can improve machine performance and application accuracy. Or even improve the entire production process by automating repetitive tasks.

Jon Ebert product management and marketing lead with John Deere says that there are several new precision ag upgrades available from John Deere that help with harvesting. Ebert says that one combine upgrade is the cross auger shutoff available for S700 series combines.

Another aftermarket combine upgrade that is available is the adjustable auger spout says Ebert.

Ebert tells the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network that John Deere designs its precision ag upgrades based on what farmers need.

Another combine upgrade available from John Deere are shorter snouts for the outside corn head which Ebert says can better navigate oddly shaped and uneven fields.
