Precision ag tech assisting growers with soil fertility and analysis

In 2024 precision agriculture tools are available for nearly every aspect of row crop farming. These precision ag technology tools have made farms more efficient and sustainable while allowing producers to refine their management practices each year.

Soil nutrient management is one area where precision ag is allowing growers to become more precise, effective, and efficient with new technology tools. Radicle Agronomics is a suite of products developed by Precision Planting to assist growers with soil fertility and soil analysis.

There are two main products from Radicle Agronomics, the first is an in-field device called GeoPress that eliminates the work of record-keeping and bag-handling in soil sampling. The second component of Radicle Agronomics helps growers to quickly analyze their soil samples says Eli Sloneker, a product support team member for Radicle Agronomics and Precision Planting.

With high input costs, an accurate fertilizer recommendation can save a grower significant money says Sloneker.

He says that the soil sample collection from GeoPress and the fully automated soil laboratory can help a grower complete the process much easier than before.

After the soil sample analysis is complete, the data from the analysis is automatically uploaded to the app says Sloneker.
