The United States pork industry is still on hold, waiting for a decision from the Supreme Court regarding its case against California?s Prop 12. The law would try and regulate pork that is imported to California from other states.
Tyler Bettin is the director of producers? services with the National Pork Producers Council and he says that one state should not be allowed to regulate commerce in the other 49 states.
Bettin thinks that Prop 12 is unfair to producers from other states outside of California and that those producers should be able to run their farm the way that works best for their operation.
