If you are a farmer looking to upgrade your ag equipment with new technology you are doing so because you are attempting to produce better yields and improve profitability. You can achieve those goals with new equipment, but it will come with a costly price tag. Another option is to retrofit the equipment that you already own by adding to your core piece of equipment with new technology.
Bryce Baker an integrated marketing manager at Precision Planting says that a retrofit, which upgrades a farmer?s equipment with new technology, can help a farmer?s bottom line.
Baker says retrofitting a sprayer or planter that a farmer already owns can save the farmer significant money.
Most major brands of equipment are compatible with Precision Planting technology, says Baker.
He says for optimum return on investment Precision Planting technology is geared towards the individual producer.
Baker says not only are the settings optimized for the individual?s farm or operation, but the equipment and technology can also be tailored to a specific field or even a particular area of a field.
Bryce Baker visited with the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network at Commodity Classic in Orlando Florida in March.
