The 90th anniversary of the Natural Resources Conservation Service was recognized Friday in ceremonies at USDA headquarters in Washington DC.
NRCS Chief Aubrey Bettencourt says the NRCS has played a large role in conservation efforts nationwide, but that work was also evident on her family’s farm.
Bettencourt says the NRCS has been successful through public/private partnerships at the field level with technical work and through financial assistance.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins says the NRCS has a legacy of helping America’s farmers farm sustainably with an eye towards the future.
