The world’s largest agriculture chemical and seed company is making big changes ahead of the 2021 crop season.
Corteva Agriscience on Tuesday announced plans to retire its Mycogen brand after this year’s crop season. The company’s decision stems from conversations with farmers and retailers.
The brand will be no more, and a new brand, Brevant, will take its place. “With Brevant, the company plans to expand retailer access to Corteva’s genetic traits and technology,” according to Mike Lozier, Brevant brand marketing leader.
“We’re proud of the high-performance product line we (will) have for sale this summer,” Lozier said. “We’re ready to go bushel-to-bushel with anybody, whether that’s (with) soybeans or a world-class silage lineup. We feel like we have an answer for every field, and are excited to equip retail with confidence to place hybrids and varieties where they know best.”
Brevant features high-performance corn and soybean lineups.
“We also have canola, sunflower, and alfalfa – All with the latest trait technology and packages,” Lozier said. “Our soybean line features Brevant Enlist E3 soybeans, (where) we see a bushel better in the bag than leading competitors. And our grain corn lineup is exciting. We see a seven bushel advantage versus our competition in over 400,000 head-to-head pre-commercial on-farm comparisons.”
Brevant “draws on the strengths of Corteva Agriscience, built on 100 years of Ag experience, science and support.” “Brevant” has a special meaning behind it, similar to its parent company, “Corteva.”
“The first part of the name, ‘brev,’ means short. The idea being quick and agile. It aims to be service of its client. The end part, ‘vant,’ suggests leadership and a competitive advantage. When you think of Brevant, think of bold, high-performance that’s focused on the customer and servicing,” Lozier said.
Brevant seeds will available to growers this summer. For more information on Brevant, visit www.brevant.com.
