In one of their most recent Beltway Beef Podcast episodes, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association talked about a new project being introduced by the Department of Defense.
The National Defense Authorization Act is used to fund the DoD and projects within it. The new project being highlighted in this episode would be used to fund research into lab-grown meat for the DoD.
The NCBA is vastly opposed to this project and has been working with members of Congress in both chambers to try and prevent taxpayer dollars from funding this project.
Congressman Don Bacon (R-Ne) has introduced an amendment in support of the NCBA’s priorities which would stop funding from reaching the Department of Defense for this specific project.
