Last year at Commodity Classic in Orlando, I had the chance to visit with Matt Olson of John Deere as they were rolling out their revamped precision farming tools for the 2023 growing season. They were excited to make updates to everything from displays to modems and receivers. It was a bottom-up boosting of their equipment.

Now they have had a growing season of seeing it fully deployed in the fields around the United States, and the results are looking very good. Matt Olson rejoins us to talk about what they have learned from this past year. He says the first thing to have success with precision farming tools, is to find out what systems and tools are going to be a good fit for your operation.

It’s been three decades since John Deere rolled out those first yellow domes on their tractors. They have learned and grown a lot in those past decades. Olson reflects on how these past thirty years have made them a leader in the precision ag marketplace.

Olson says that the past 30 years of results speak for themselves.
