ISU hoping to help FFA students make meaningful connections

Today marked the first day of the 95th Iowa FFA Convention. Taking place on the campus of Iowa State University, over 6,000 ag students have gathered to network, learn more about agriculture, and decide the future of the organization. Of course, Iowa State University loves the opportunity to have so many ag students on site, and they offer tours all day for students who are interested. Andy Zehr, director of recruitment with Iowa State University, said it takes a big team to make all of those tours run smoothly.

Zehr said there are a lot of new developments taking place on campus currently that these prospective ag majors will get to take advantage of.

With all of those new developments, there?s not much more a student could ask for in terms of hands-on learning.

While ISU may be a large university with a lot of students, many of their ag classes have smaller class sizes, which allows students to have a much more individualized experience.

Whether it?s through state convention or in the future as an ISU student, Zehr hopes that he can help these FFA members make meaningful connections that will help them succeed down the road.
